Free menstrual products in universities for the next school year

Updated: Mar 1, 2021

The government wants to install 1,500 distributors in the university residences of the Crous and the university health services.

Menstrual propre will be free at the start of the next school year for all students in the Crous university residences and university health services, announced the Minister of Higher Education, Frédérique Vidal, on Tuesday 23 February. This decision is part of the fight against the precariousness of young people.

In the coming weeks, the Crous residences and university health services will be equipped with menstrual propre dispensers, Ms. Vidal said during a meeting in Poitiers with students. “We are aiming for 1,500 distributors and full free admission at the start of the school year,” she added. These protections will be "environmentally friendly," said the ministry.
